Meetup Group Cruises
Meetup group organizers - earn a free cruise vacation
You work hard organizing your meetup events and keeping your meetup group together. So shouldn't you have an opportunity to be rewarded for it? We think you should.
Avion Travel Network is offering meetup group organizers a free seven day cruise vacation for promoting cruise vacation events to your group's members. You can earn a seven day cruise just for doing what you already do anyway - promoting an event to your group.
We know meetup group organizers already have access to large groups of people centered on a variety of common interests. We need your help to tap into your group's members, and we're happy to offer you a free cruise for helping us out.
What Do I Have to Do?
First, we require that you have at least 100 living, breathing members in your meetup group. If you meet that requirement, we'll work with you to plan a seven day group cruise that you can promote to your members as one of your normal events, although a seven day group cruise will probably be above and beyond the events you normally plan for your group. But that’s why your group members will love you.
Once we agree on a cruise destination and ship, we'll give you all the details you need to promote your event. All you have to do is announce it to your meetup group and send them ongoing reminders to sign up. Do what you always do - announce your event, make it sound interesting to your meetup members, and make an effort to get maximum attendance. You can also encourage your members to bring their friends and family, even if those people are not members of your meetup group.
What's the catch?
We will only award you with a free cruise if you successfully get at least 16 people on your planned group cruise. Many meetup group organizers have hundreds or thousands of members, and many of them have already been awarded a free cruise for getting at least 16 people on a group cruise vacation.
Only bookings made directly through our travel agency, Avion Travel Network, will count toward your goal of 16 people.
If 16 people sign up for your meetup group cruise, but someone cancels, you will only earn your free cruise if you replace the cancelled person(s) and have at least 16 people who actually book through Avion Travel Network and actually go on the cruise as part of the group.
That's all you have to do. We're not asking for anything dramatic - it's just that we need access to your group members to get them on group cruises, which we can only get by going through you, the group organizers.
What if my group is less than 16 people?
In some cases we might be able to get you a free cruise if you are one or two people short. If not, Avion Travel Network will "sometimes" reward you with an on-board cruise credit, usually in amounts ranging from $50 to $200. This will depend on your cruise specifics.
Can I book my group cruise on any cruise line?
Our ability to get you a free cruise will vary depending on the cruise line. Since some cruise lines have different policies, we might limit your booking to a choice of specific cruises lines that would be considered a good fit for your group. But there's no need for concern, because we only work with the major cruise lines.
What kind of groups are successful with group cruises?
Our last few social media group cruises included a yoga group cruise of 42 people, a wine lovers group cruise of 26 people, a Burning Man group cruise of 21 people, and an LGBT group cruise of 16 people. Almost any kind of common interest group is perfect for group cruises.
How much will the cruise cost my members?
Cruise pricing varies widely, depending on the number of days, the destinations, the ship, and other factors. We've done a lot of seven day cruises that usually cost between $900 and $1,300 per person, but the cruise you plan could cost more or less. We usually offer payment plans that allow group members to make a small deposit and have several months to pay their final cruise balance, and of course major credit cards are accepted.
How does the cruise booking process work?
It's best if you contact us to start planning at least six months before a group cruise. Once we have agreed with you on the dates, destinations, ship, and other details, we will give you all the information your members need. From your online event announcement, your members can contact us and provide your group name to get booked and make payments. A few weeks before your cruise date, Avion Travel Network will work with you to make sure your members are checked in and ready to go.
Will my free cruise cover my entire vacation?
When a meetup group organizer earns a free cruise, this reward only includes the cruise. It does not include any airfare, hotel, alcohol, or food that's not already included with the cruise (most cruises do already include plenty of food). Our cruise pricing is generally based on double occupancy, so you will need a roommate in your cruise cabin, and your roommate will have to pay regular price for their cruise. If you have at least 32 people on your cruise (twice the required minimum), you would earn two free cruises and you could give one to your roommate or any other member of your group.
Where can my meetup group go on our cruise?
Most of the meetup group organizers we work with select Caribbean cruises. However some select Alaska cruises and Mexico cruises. Avion Travel Network also books cruises to Europe, Asia, and other parts of the world, so you have a lot of options depending on what you think is the best fit for your meetup group members.
Who will host my cruise?
As the meetup group organizer, you will host your cruise event just as you host your other meetup events. Or you can assign one of your group administrators to host it. Avion Travel Network will not attend your group cruise event. If you assign someone else to host your event, that person would use the free cruise you earned.
Is Avion Travel Network part of or affiliated with Meetup.com?
No, Avion Travel Network is not a part of or affiliated with Meetup.com in any way. Avion Travel Network is an independent cruise specialist travel agency based in San Diego California.
